You might have already been to these destinations to get away from the cold and this will bring back memories... or maybe it will inspire you to get away to a warm place in the next few months! • Gran Canaria

One of the top destinations in the low season is the island of Gran Canaria. It has it all: vast and peaceful beaches, sun, outdoor cafés, bars, inland towns... It's not only a perfect place for those who long to spend hours lounging on the beach – it's also great for those who fancy doing sports like surfing, diving and kiteboarding.

• Marrakech

You don't always need to go to the beach to get good weather. You can go to Morocco to get away from the cold in Europe! We recommend Marrakech, a city where you can get away from it all and discover a new and uncharted universe. The colourful Jemaa el-Fnaa, with its shops and passageways, is the symbol of this enigmatic yet welcoming city.

• Alicante

It is said that Alicante is the Spanish city with the most hours of sunshine a year... We're not sure whether this fact is scientifically true or not, but what we do know is that here you'll find mild and pleasant weather, even in winter. The Mediterranean Sea might be a bit cold this time of year (it's really up to you if you fancy a dip or not...), but you'll definitely want to spend most of the time outdoors enjoying the sun, the delicious food and the outdoor cafés.

• Lanzarote

Lanzarote, the beautiful natural gem of the Canary Islands, is another popular destination for those who want to leave their coats behind. What can we find on this island? Beaches like Famara and Papagayo, natural pools like Los Charcones, routes amid volcanoes in Timanfaya… and much more!

• Malta

And we're back in the Mediterranean, this time in Malta, the small island situated between Italy and Tunisia. It's really crowded in summer, but in winter it's perfect as you can enjoy the mild temperature and all the country has to offer: the old town of Valletta, the islands of Comino and Gozo, the sunset from the cliffs, and more!

• Malaga

The last city on our list is Malaga, another affordable destination that is known for its good weather and quality of life. We mustn't forget that this is the capital of the Costa del Sol, or "Coast of the Sun". It really does live up to its name! Why not enjoy a few days in Malaga? You can go for a walk in its historic quarter and along the beach, and savour "pescaíto frito" (fried fish).
