Which fare shall I choose for my trip?

Basic fare, Optima fare, Family fare or TimeFlex fare; we have a fare for every type of traveller. Not sure which one is best for you? This guide will help you make the right choice.

It all depends on whether you want the cheapest option, whether you're checking in a case, whether you're travelling with kids or whether you need flexibility to be able to change your flights.

Basic Fare - If you're looking for the lowest price

This fare is the cheapest way to fly. If you're planning a quick break and only need a small bag or backpack that fits under the seat in front of you, this is the fare for you. There'll still be time to choose a seat to sit next to your companion or get extra space, and even to add a case if you change your mind at the last minute.

PS: Take a look at these tips for packing your hand baggage. You'll be surprised how much you can fit in with a little organisation.

Optima Fare – If you want to check in a case

If you're going away for more than a couple of days, or you just want to bring more luggage, then you're better off with this fare because it includes a 25 kg checked bag. You won't have to worry about liquids (there are no restrictions in checked bags) and you also get free seat selection so you can sit next to whoever you want.

Family Fare - If you're travelling with the family

If there's one thing for sure, it's that travelling on your own is not the same as travelling with kids. We know that when you take the whole family you want to be able to sit together on the plane and you probably need to take more luggage. Our Family Fare ticks all those boxes! Every passenger (except infants under 2) gets a free case, seat selection and Priority Boarding (if you're travelling with infants under 2). You can also take 2 items of hand luggage on board.

At Vueling we try to make life easier for families, so the passenger travelling with a child under 2 will also be able to carry a bag that goes in the overhead locker (max. 10 kg and 55x40x20 cm) and an additional baby bag (up to 5 kg), as well as an underseat cabin bag (max. 35x20x20 cm). You can also check in up to 2 items of infant luggage free of charge: pushchair, cradle, cot or car seat.

PS: Take a look at these tips for flying with infants.

TimeFlex Fare – If you need to be flexible about times

We've created this fare specially for people who travel for work or fly frequently and want to be able to change the time of their flight, even on the same day, without having to pay a surcharge. All you'll pay is the difference in fare. With this option, unlike the others, we won't charge you for the change.

The TimeFlex fare also means that you save time because it includes fast track (at the airports where available) and priority boarding. You'll also be able to take 2 items of luggage on board: one underseat cabin bag (max. 35x20x20 cm) and one 10 kg bag (max. 55x40x20 cm).

Plus, it doesn't only include unlimited flight changes: you can also cancel your booking and get a refund in the form of a Flight Credit.

Our aim is make your travel experience smooth and hassle-free!

What's more, in case you need any more help to make up your mind, if you are a member of Vueling Club, every time you book you'll collect Avios, which you can then use to travel for free: 2 Avios for every euro you spend on the Basic Fare or 4 Avios for every euro you spend on the other fares.
