May 4 is Star Wars Day, and we wanted to do something special to celebrate. We would like to invite you to discover the Star Wars filming locations. Feel like Luke Skywalker in that galaxy "far, far away", without leaving the Earth.
- Plaza de España, Seville
In September 2000, the cast and crew led by George Lucas travelled to Plaza de España, in Seville, to film the arrival in planet Naboo of Padmé Amidala, in Episode II.
- Sahara Desert, Tunisia
Almost all the films in this saga include at least one scene filmed in this country, where Tatooine, the planet where Luke Skywalker grew up, was created.
- Royal Palace of Caserta, Naples
In Episodes I and II, the Royal Palace of Caserta, in Naples, was the chosen location for the inside of Queen Amidala's Palace, in Naboo.
- Lake Como, Italy
The moving wedding scene with Anakin and Padme next to the lakes of planet Naboo was filmed in the beautiful Villa del Balbianello, overlooking Lake Como, to the north of Milan.
- Whippendell Wood, UK
The Forest of Naboo in The Phantom Menace is actually in the UK. To film these scenes, actors and crew travelled to Whippendell Wood, near London.
- Finse, Norway
One of the iciest and most epic battles in the saga took place in Episode V, on planet Hoth. These scenes were filmed in Hardangerjøkulen glacier in Finse, about 120 km from Bergen.
